Pinhole Surgery Technique Now Available

We are proud to announce that our in-house specialist Dr. Evdokia Chasioti is one of a handful of periodontists in London and the UK to offer Pinhole Surgery treatment for Gum Recession!

Gum Recession Causes

Gum recession can be attributed to a number of different factors: old age, periodontal disease, genetic factors as well as over- zealous tooth brushing. The overall result being that the tooth’s roots become exposed, increasing the likelihood of decay, discomfort and poor dental hygiene.

Until recently this was a very difficult and painful treatment involving scalpels and sutures to graft healthy gum tissue onto the affected area.

How does Pinhole Surgery Work?

As you may see from this video, the pinhole surgical technique has now been developed to offer a minimally invasive solution to this problem and is affected through the insertion of a needle into the gum to make a small hole. This enables the gum to be stretched and pulled to cover the tooth, using specialist instruments.

All patients will need to book for a thorough initial consultation with Evie and this will include a full mouth examination, measurements of the gums, recording of the recession, assessment of risk factors, treatment planning followed by a full written report.

Please contact us on 0208 940 5071 to book your consultation
